Environmental Leadership Program

 Environmental Leadership Program (ELP) is an ASUN committee that involves UNL freshmen and sophomores in making a sustainable impact on campus. Members of ELP plan and organize events that promote a sustainable culture at UNL, experience leadership development, gain education on environmental issues, and participate in aspects of student government such as grant and policy writing.

Freshman Campus Leadership Associates

FCLA is an appointed group of twenty freshmen that serve as a liaison between the freshman class and ASUN. FCLA is a year-long appointment, with goals of introducing members to the construction and operation of student government, networking with other involved freshmen, leadership development, and preparation for future involvement within ASUN and in the greater UNL community.

Government Liaison Committee 

The Government Liaison Committee shall educate and engage students in civic duties and legislative actions, and deliberately communicate student views and concerns to the University’s administration and the Nebraska State Government, while representing the student body as a whole and remaining impartial.

Graduate Student Assembly

The ASUN Senate functions as the primary representative body for students, as well as the regulator for other student organizations.  Senator’s responsibilities encompass the full range of student affairs, individual projects, research and lobbying with administrators, faculty, legislators, the Board of Regents and citizens

The Campus Life and Safety Committee shall work towards improving the well-being and safety of all students on campus by creating programming related to a variety of topics that affect college students.

Committee for Fee Allocations

The Committee for Fee Allocations (CFA) shall recommend to the Senate the establishment and allocation of University Program and Facilities Fees (UPFF).

Communications Committee

The Communications Committee shall be responsible for investigating issues pertaining to organizational communication challenges as well as ideas and goals improving communication within ASUN and between ASUN and the UNL student body and faculty, staff, and administration; in addition to promoting ASUN’s purposes as stated in the ASUN Constitution as well as encouraging membership and participation in ASUN among the University’s population.

Diversity and Inclusion

ASUN’s Committee for Diversity and Inclusion is devoted to representing the diverse populations of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. With this, the Committee takes the charge to support and encourage actions raised by individuals and groups that are looking to progress diversity issues on campus.

Environmental Sustainability Committee

The ASUN Environmental Sustainability Committee (ESC) was created in 2010 to increase student input on environmental issues throughout UNL’s campus. Since then, the committee has taken a leading role in transforming UNL into a more sustainable university through policy change, various projects, education and community involvement.

Green Fund Selections Committee

The Green Fund provides grants for student-led projects directed toward improving overall environmental sustainability on campus. The fund and its grant reviewing committee empower students and enables student-driven projects in sustainability by providing a source of funding, guidance, hands-on experience and networking.

Student Services Committee

The Student Services Committee is responsible for investigating issues relating to services provided by ASUN to the Student Body. These include oversight of Registered Student Organizations, review and amendments of constitutions for RSOs, disciplinary actions against RSOs and periodical reviews of ASUN bylaws..

 

Technology Fee Committee

The Technology Fee Committee's main purpose is to review and examine each college’s use of its budgeted student technology fee. This fee is for the specific use of bettering the technological aspects of a UNL student's education. After reviewing each college’s previous year's expenses relating to the student technology fee, we research other proposals for use of the technology fee and special projects that may be funded by the technology fee.
