Funding Criteria

In order to apply for a project grant from the Green Fund, you must be a student or a recognized student organization. In addition, your project must also meet the following requirements:

  • Must have a clearly defined, measurable outcome
  • Must incorporate publicity, education, or outreach
  • Must have a faculty/staff sponsor
  • Must be willing to showcase your project during the Green Fund showcase in the spring
  • Must be willing to display the ASUN logo on all marketing materials if the project is awarded funding

Apply For Funding

In order to apply for a grant from the UNL Student Green Fund, please complete the application below and e-mail it to greenfund.unl@gmail.com, or turn in a physical copy to the ASUN office located in the Union before the application deadline. The application includes a short abstract, several short-answer questions, a detailed budget, and an advisor approval form. The application deadlines for the current school year are as follows:

  • 2017-2018 Academic Year
  • Application deadlines under $7,500:
  • Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until March 1, 2018

Applications may be submitted throughout the Academic year up until March 1, 2018. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and funding is first-come-first serve pending senate approval. We advise you to allow for sufficient time in your application that we may be able to best advise you on your specific needs and help you make any necessary budget or timeline adjustments to your project proposal.

Applications that are received after March 1st will not be considered.

  • Application deadlines over $7,500

If your application is for over $7,500 we advise you to complete and submit your application as early as possible in order to accommodate extra logistical and financial consultations that may arise.

The Green Fund Selections Committee will be in contact with you shortly after the application deadlines in order to schedule an in-person interview. Final decisions on grant awards will be made no later than one month after the initial application deadline.
