Celebrating 20 YEARS at Nebraska

300 students needed for The Big Event

This year's event is Saturday, April 11.  Through service-oriented activities, students come together for one day to express their gratitude for the support from the surrounding community.

The Big Event is an annual single-day-of-service benefiting local nonprofits and residents in the greater Lincoln community. Volunteers helped clean up private properties, residences, and local parks. May 4, 2024. Photo by Kylie Galvin / Office of Student Affairs.

ASUN awards grant for student advocacy event

ASUN’s Grant Selections Committee awarded a $400 grant to Kappa Delta Chi Sorority, Inc. to host “How to Advocate for Yourself and Your Community.” The event equipped students with advocacy tools, shared resources from Civic Nebraska and Nebraska Appleseed, and created space for students to voice concerns about recent campus changes.
