What Happens If I Drive Without the Interlock?

If the court or the Department of Motor Vehicles has ordered you to operate only motor vehicles equipped with an Ignition Interlock Device and you drive without one or tamper with the device, you will be charged with a Class I Misdemeanor.

If the court or the Department of Motor Vehicles has ordered you to operate only motor vehicles equipped with an Ignition Interlock Device and you drive without one or tamper with the device, and have a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .02 or higher, you will be charged with a Class IV felony.
